If not, don't worry about it - they do have had one of the longest safety records as preservatives! If you are concerned about the health safety of parabens, then feel free to avoid them by looking out for the Paraben-Free icon. There's still a lot of support for avoiding parabens following the better safe than sorry route. However, the majority of the scientific community have deemed these findings non-conclusive due to the limitations of these studies. There has been some healthy controversy surrounding them due to a few studies finding paraben presence in breast tumours and breast tissue. Perhaps the sheerer formula just wasn’t doing much for me.Parabens are a large group of preservatives which are used to prevent bacteria growing in cosmetic formulations. My skin looked ok and even good after application but not nearly as flawless as I typically like to look. I have to admit as much as I liked the formula something felt like it was missing and I wasn’t quite impressed with the finished results. I think it takes tinted moisturizer to a different level as this texture and formula reminds me more of a tinted lotion of sorts do to the thinner formula. Overall, Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is a nice budget friendly option ($12.99-$14.99 at drugstores) with a fairly nice formula. Plus you’d need to apply a heck of a lot anyway so sunscreen prior is always the best option. The dewiness isn’t terribly pleasant for me somehow as the product makes itself known, not something I’m used to with bases.Īlthough it contains SPF 30 it does not contain UVA ingredients which is why I would NOT forgo sunscreen when using this. I’m not really convinced I love the completed look though. It eases dullness, softens skin, and evens it out. It’s a no makeup look which I’m very comfortable with. Personally I didn’t feel my skin looked brighter after use but it did create a smooth, even surface for my makeup. This contains Total Soy Complex which promises to brighten and even skin tone while providing SPF 30 sun protection. It leaves a dewy finish on skin and blends out seamlessly without clinging to flaky areas of my face such as my dry, patchy cheeks. I’m comfortable using it as a daily moisturizer at the moment and would even recommend forgoing moisturizer in place of this. It absorbs easily into skin and moisturizers my drier skin quite nicely. For the most part it resembles a lightweight lotion or daily moisturizer with a bit of tint. The formula is a gel-like consistency with a thinner formula. ![]() Although a smidge too light for me it is sheer enough to blend away without looking pasty. If you fit into these two shade selections you should be a-ok! I tried the Fair to Light but I think the Medium would be better (although it might be too dark, I haven’t swatched it!). ![]() Available in a Fair to Light and Medium shade selection this tinted moisturizer is a little limited in the shade department. Here’s my thoughts on the tinted moisturizer formula and I’ll follow up shortly with my thoughts and comparisons to the BB Cream formula!Īveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is one of those products you’re either going to really love or really hate. Both Covergirl and Olay have done this recently…!Īfter I review Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer I’ll follow up with my review of the Aveeno Clear Complexion BB Cream to compare the two formulas. I’ve never tried Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer so I thought I’d give it a test prior to trying the Aveeno Clear Complexion BB Cream as it would be easier to compare the two formulas.Ĭompanies are a little guilty of switching around the names of their Tinted Moisturizers and simply adding “BB Cream” to new packaging so I wasn’t sure if Aveeno was doing the same thing.
